U utorak 18. travnja 2023. godine u 9:15 sati u dvorani 102 dr. Marcin Trepczyński (Faculty of Philosophy, University of Warsaw) održat će gostujuće predavanje „Logic and Theology in the 13th-Century Western Thought“. Predavanje se održava u zajedničkoj organizaciji Filozofskoga fakulteta i Fakulteta filozofije i religijskih znanosti u Zagrebu u okviru mreže “Filozofija i interdisciplinarnost” Srednjoeuropskoga programa razmjene za sveučilišne studije (CEEPUS).
Predavanje je obvezno za studente koji slušaju kolegij Ranokršćanska filozofija, a dobrodošli su svi studenti i profesori!
Summary:
In 13th-century Western thought, theology and logic met on different levels. In all cases, such encounters are interesting. And sometimes they are really surprising. In some of them, medieval theologians were aware that they use logical tools, whereas in others we can see it thanks to the development of modern logic. I will show those which I found most important and interesting. I will talk about “argumentativism” and “deductivism”, as well as about: an extraordinary pragmatic theory, non-classical logics and “non-concepts” in negative theology. As always, I invite the audience to actively participate. Interrupting with questions is mostly welcome!
Biography:
Dr. Marcin Trepczyński is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw, specialised in the 13th-century philosophy, theology and logic; he is also interested in contemporary changes (#hypermodernism) and the use of AI in theological discourse (project “Testing AI as a Rational Theologian”). He is an editor-in-chief of the journal “Edukacja Filozoficzna” (Philosophical Education) published at the University of Warsaw, and a treasurer of the Logic and Religion Association (LARA) which organises world congresses and webinars on logic and religion.
